The new version of Jelly SMS, 2.4, is now available in the App Store. Just update to the latest version for free to get the fixes.
It features:
- Message sending failures for certain voip providers is now fixed. The reason it stopped working is because these providers changed their API without letting me know, so I could not preempt this problem.
- Your remaining credit balance is now shown for you after you send an SMS.
- landscape typing fix
- international SMS for Vodafone Ireland users is now supported.
Hope you enjoy.
Version 2.5 is also on it’s way with some more goodies… Watch this space!

Hello
I’m using the full version of jelly sms on the iphone. The idea of providing support for providers like voipbuster.com is very good, but i’m having one problem. You seem to have a problem with the encoding, which is not correct. Here in Switzerland (German) we use lots of öäü which require utf-8 encoding. Is that going to be fixed? It works for example correctly with the voipbuster client, but not with your application. Would be great if you could fix that soon or give me a hint regarding this!

I love the app. I’ve a few features I’d like to suggest for enhancements.
Alongside the buttons for Delete and Forward, an “Edit+Resend” button would be great. This is particularly useful for poll type questions and answers, i.e. “Who’s in for football this evening?” and “Count me in for such and such” or radio competition entries i.e. “. , , “. As it stands now, you have to forward the message and re-add all the contacts by hand.
My other idea is to stay connected to the operator until the app is closed, rather than logging in for each individual message.

part of the above comment didn’t come out….
radio competition entries i.e. “[answer]. [name], [age], [location]“

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for the comment. Jelly SMS will support unicode for only for My-Cool-SMS. It is not possible with voipbuster I’m afraid. This is coming in the next version which will be out soon when Apple approves it.

App stopped working suddenly, got the message “check settings … credit …”
I use my-cool-SMS and have enough credit, same user/login as before. I can use my-cool-SMS online.
I got it working again! In the iPhone settings/jellysms disable the “show remaining”
maybe the problem is my-cool-SMS uses Euros and I (and my iPhone) uses Swedish kronor SEK?

Hi Daniel,
Yes, this has now been fixed in the next version (already in review with Apple). However, it only will work with my-cool-sms.com as voipbuster.com do not have a good API for this.
Thanks

Hi Nick,
I have a feeling the problem you were having may not be to do with the remaining balance. Possibly it is the characters you are using (an accent or some other characters) in his message. In which case, the next version will sort it for you for good : )

Hi
I have been having the same problem with Jelly SMS. I use it through O2.ie and it keeps saying that I have to check my settings. Everything is fine there plus I deleted the app and downloaded it again and also restored my phone but nothing seems to be working. I have enough web texts left to send messages also.
Thanks
Graham

Hi Graham,
This is a problem with O2. They are currently investigating… See here for more info:

hi… Issue with Clickatell. A great tool, I used it lots, but recently (4 weeks) it has become unreliable – about half the time saying ‘cannot send message; check credit, settings etc’.. just as wayne detailed back in November. I have 400+ credits when I logon at the website. More recently, since arriving India (2 wks) I have not been able to send ANY msgs, using wifi at multiple places. Same error, ie cannot send msg etc.
Any suggestions pls? Barns
